Copyrights, Trademarks, and Logos

A big issue with microstock photography is avoiding copyrighted material such as trademarks and logos. The images you create are being sold for various uses. Because of this, there can be absolutely no recognizable logos or trademarks; if there are (even the smallest little thing) then your image is sure to be rejected. The easiest way to prevent this is to double check your scene before shooting. Make sure there are no buildings or objects that could violate this policy within your image. Once the photograph is taken, make sure you inspect it at 100% for any material that could hold a copyright. If you do find something, then your best bet is to use the clone tool in Photoshop or Elements. You can simply remove the item at question and submit your photo as if it was never there in the first place. If you do this with great care there should be no sacrifice in the quality of your image.
